The Women's and Gender Studies program at Virginia Tech presents students new ways of thinking about how race, class, and sexuality shape our society and our experiences in it.
Award-winning faculty members teach courses to over 800 Virginia Tech students each year.
Students can now major in Women's and Gender Studies with an IDST degree option.
Many students choose to minor in Women's and Gender Studies because our programs complement so many other majors.
We also offer a 9-hour Graduate Certificate--an interdisciplinary, cross-cultural study of gender in social structure, history, culture, and technology.
Central to the mission of Women's and Gender Studies at Virginia Tech is the empowerment of women, in both the academy and our larger society.
